DFD's work is aimed at producing results that benefit Extension, its clientele, and the broader society. Examples include:

  • Public issues education — Re-framed the system's ability to educate regarding controversial public issues: author and editor of training publications, co-producer of video case studies and co-host of videoconference training series available by satellite nationwide.

  • Leadership development — Creator and principal trainer for the northeast regional leadership development program, NeLD. (An extensive archive of Dale's leadership development materials is available at neld.rutgers.edu.)

  • Strategic research — on the Extension system's strategic planning practices.

  • Strategy Development — Designed and led strategic planning processes for Nutrition Education and Ag units. Planned and led a process for involving 300+ Extension professionals from the 1890s Extensions in strategic planning

  • Programmatic guidance — Conducted focus groups and stakeholder forums for specific Extension program areas.
